The Kogi state police command has confirmed the abduction of six officials of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) along the notorious Lokoja/Kabba road.
The state police public relations officer, William Aya told The Punch, on Monday, that the JAMB officials from the head office, Abuja were heading towards Kabba on Sunday when their vehicle was stopped shortly after Obajàna.
They were said to be going there on preparation for the Mock JAMB examination scheduled for Tuesday.
He, however, revealed that one of them simply identified as Hamza was rescued while an identity card belonging to one of the victims was recovered by men of Anti Robbery Squad.
He, however, declined to give more details on the development.
Aya, a deputy superintendent of police said immediately they got the information, the State Police Commissioner, CP Ayuba Ede deployed special squad to comb the area and one of the JAMB officials by name Hamza was rescued and is presently receiving treatment in the hospital.
He also added that one identity card belonging to another JAMB official was recovered in the bush.

DSP Ayah stressed further that his men are still in the bush trying to locate and rescue the rest staff from the suspected kidnappers.
