Police confirm attack on Adamawa community, begin probe

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an attack by gunmen on the Kwapre community in Hong Local Government Area on Christmas Day.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, stated that the incident occurred on Monday, and an investigation is currently underway.

He mentioned, “The Commissioner of Police, Babatola Afolabi, has deployed officers and directed an investigation.”

During the attack, two individuals were reported killed, according to the District Head of Dugwaba, Mr. Simon Buba. Buba suggested that the gunmen, suspected to be members of Boko Haram, invaded the community on motorcycles, seized food items, and quickly retreated towards the Sambisa Forest.

The police spokesperson urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the police and other security agencies to enhance security measures in the state and the country at large.
