Police begin manhunt over three persons kidnapped in Anambra

Three people were kidnapped in different locations in Anambra State over the weekend. The state police command has started a manhunt to arrest the kidnappers and a rescue operation to free the victims.

The first kidnapping happened along Ifite-Amansea Road in Awka. The second took place along Agulu-Oraukwu Road, and the third incident occurred in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area, where an attendant at a filling station was killed.

The police have recovered the vehicle belonging to the victim kidnapped on Ifite-Amansea Road.

The state Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, said, “The command has taken joint security measures to prevent such incidents in the state.” He added that efforts are ongoing to arrest the assailants and rescue the victims.

The Commissioner also urged the tactical teams to redouble their efforts. “The command shall leave no stone unturned in hunting down the assailants,” he vowed.
