The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two men allegedly involved in vandalising electric cables and poles along the Gitata-Gunduma Road in the state.
The suspects, identified as Chigozie Igbokwe, 41, and Emmanuel John, 45, both residents of Jikwoyi in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were arrested in the early hours of Friday by officers attached to the Gitata Police Division during a routine patrol in the area.

Nansel explained that the suspects were arrested due to the alertness of the patrol team conducting regular security checks along the road.
He further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for further investigation.
“The Commissioner of Police has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and prosecution,” the statement said.
The police command reiterated its resolve to safeguard critical public infrastructure and warned individuals engaged in acts of vandalism to desist or face the full weight of the law.
