The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two individuals, Michael Jatau and Haruna Aliyu, in connection with the theft of a vehicle.
This was made known in a statement issued on Wednesday by the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended on Monday by operatives of the command’s Special Intervention Squad.
A dark ash 2012 Toyota Corolla was recovered during the operation. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle had been snatched in Abuja and brought to Kano for resale.
Kiyawa noted that the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, commended the officers involved in the arrest and reaffirmed the command’s dedication to community-based policing.
