The anti-kidnapping unit of the Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected vehicle thieves and recovered a stolen truck head in a coordinated operation.
According to the Command, officers acted on “credible intelligence” received in the early hours of Thursday, December 4, 2025, which enabled operatives to track the suspects and intercept them later that night.
Police spokesperson SP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the incident in a statement, explaining that detectives mobilised immediately after receiving information about the theft.
“At about 2100hrs the same day, three suspects were arrested in connection with the offence. The stolen vehicle was successfully recovered, and the suspects have been taken into custody,” he stated.
Nansel added that preliminary findings indicated the truck head was stolen from Awka, Anambra State, and driven to Lafia, where the suspects allegedly intended to sell it to unsuspecting buyers before their arrest.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, applauded the operatives for their timely intervention and professionalism.
He called on the rightful owner of the recovered vehicle to visit the Command Headquarters on Shendam Road, Lafia, with valid proof of ownership to reclaim it.
Mohammed further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and expressed appreciation to residents for their continued support to the Police.Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected vehicle thieves and recovered a stolen truck head in a coordinated operation.
