The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued a male victim in the Isashi area of Lagos.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was kidnapped on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the Oke-Moro area of Isashi.

According to the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, the rescue took place after a concerned citizen reported the abduction.

“On August 27, 2024, at about noon, the Isashi Police division received a distress call from a concerned citizen that some hoodlums had kidnapped an unknown person at Okemoro,” Hudenyin explained.

He continued, “A team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer immediately raced to the scene, where one male victim aged 25 was rescued.”

The arrested suspects have been identified as Edem Chucks, 24; Oluwatobi Adeniji, 23; and Emmanuel Ebere. SP Hudenyin revealed that the suspects had beaten the victim and demanded a ransom of N2 million from the victim’s mother, which was paid into two different bank accounts.

“The suspects also collected N1 million from the victim’s bank account through mobile transfer. The victim was also dispossessed of his three Nigerian international passports and other valuable items,” Hudenyin added.

He noted that the investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to track other suspects who are still at large.
