Police arrest seven workers for stealing N20m goods in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested seven persons for the theft of goods valued at ₦20.45 million from a commercial shop in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh disclosed this in a statement on Sunday. Three of the suspects were employees of the shop, while the other four are alleged receivers of the stolen items.

The suspects were identified as Oyineke Joseph (storekeeper), Abioye Yusuf (computer operator), Abdullahi Quadir, and receivers Micheal Njoku, Agu Monday, Ikuemehin Oloruntimilehin, and a driver named Ojewuyi.

According to Jimoh, the shop owner, Ogunyomi Segun, reported the case on January 3, 2026, alleging that his employees had been stealing assorted soft drinks, Trophy cans, and other beverages from the store between 2024 and early 2026.

“In a decisive crackdown on economic and financial crimes, the Ondo State Police Command has arrested seven suspects in connection with a conspiracy and stealing case involving goods valued at ₦20.45 million,” the statement read.

During investigation, all suspects confessed and detailed their roles. They will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

The police urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, reaffirming the command’s commitment to ridding the state of criminal activities and ensuring offenders face the law.
