The operatives of the Gombe Divisional Police Area have burst a four-man gang who carted away equipment at the corpers’ lodge located at Tundunwada.

The Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed this on Monday.

It was reported that the corpers’ lodge is a residential building occupied by corps members currently undergoing their mandatory national service year.

Abdullahi, who confirmed the robbery, further disclosed that officers acted based on credible information, which led to their arrest and the recovery of the items.

He said, “A group of four individuals who attacked the corpers’ lodge here in Tundunwada in Gombe, close to the fire service and collected the victims’ phones and laptops have been arrested.

“Upon receipt of the information, the police tactical team, patrol 999 together with Gombe division personnel swung into action and apprehended all the suspects and recovered all items stolen from the individuals.”

He also also disclosed that police officers arrested a cattle rustler in the Dukku Local Government Area of the state.

“Fortunately, he has been on our wanted list for some time now in a suspected case of kidnapping last month (May),” he added.

Abdullahi pointed out that the suspects would be paraded and arraigned after the Muslim Sallah holidays.
