Police arrest man with human parts in Abuja

Police in the Federal Capital Territory have arrested a man named Nuhu Ezra for possessing human parts. The arrest took place in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

Nuhu Ezra, from Gosa Kipikipi village in Lugbe, Abuja, was caught with a human skull and bones.

The police, acting on a tip-off, made the arrest on July 9, 2024, around 9:00 p.m. Officers from the Iddo police division were involved in the operation.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said in a statement on Wednesday that Ezra admitted to finding the body parts while hunting in Kuje. He planned to sell them for ₦600,000.

Adeh stated, “The operatives of the FCT police command attached to Iddo police division on July 9, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m., acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested one Nuhu Ezra ‘m’ of Gosa Kipikipi village, Lugbe, Abuja, with a human skull and bones. The suspect, who was found with the body parts upon interrogation, stated that he picked them up from the bush while hunting at Kuje and had the intention to sell the body parts for ₦600,000.”

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has ordered a thorough investigation into the case.

The investigation aims to determine the identities of the body parts’ owners, the intended buyer, and if any killings were involved.

Igweh also urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities through the police emergency lines.
