The Delta State Police Command has arrested one Gabriel Uwaya who stabbed his landlord to death in Asaba.
The Acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chuks Orisewezie who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said the trouble ensued when Gabriel was fighting with the mother at Anwai road Asaba.
He said, “one Gabriel Uwaya was fighting the mother when one of his neighbour Mr Odiaka Moemeke on the process of separating the fight, he was stabbed to death by the young boy on Tuesday and ran away.
“Our men have been searching for the suspect since the incident occurred but on Wednesday evening, we were able to arrest him. But the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary. But for now, I don’t know yet whether the said neighbour is his landlord or not. Investigation is still ongoing”
It was gathered that the suspect, Gabriel who is in his early 20s and a drop-out from West-End Secondary School, Asaba, has been beating his mother over time.
It was also gathered that the victim Mr Odiaka is the landlord of the house where he was stabbed on the throat to death.
One of their neighbours who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity said ” I know Odiaka very well, we were living together with his father before they built their house here at Anwai road.
“Odiaka is a young man around 30 years old and just came back from Malaysia. So, it is very painful for such a young man that just came back and met his death” she mourned.
