Police arrest gunrunner, recover 375 live cartridges in Anambra

Police operatives in Anambra State have arrested a 48-year-old man, Felix Owaya, from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, and recovered 375 live cartridges.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Owaya was arrested on Saturday at 1:30 pm by officers from the Fegge Division while they were on patrol along Niger Street, Onitsha.

During interrogation, Owaya confessed that he was sent by Charles Ogboma to collect the ammunition from a man he has yet to name. The investigation is ongoing to uncover more details.

The Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, praised the police officers for their vigilance and dedication.

He directed all personnel in the command to continue their efforts in crime prevention and detection to serve the people of the state effectively.
