It was like a movie on Saturday at Amuloko, Ibadan, Oyo State when men of the Nigerian Police Force stormed a wedding ceremony to arrest the groom, popularly known as ‘Togo’ in the area.
It was gathered that the police made the move because Togo was suspected to be a member of an armed robbery gang that has been elusive for a while.
Along with Togo, the police also arrested some members of the bride’s family, packing cakes and some other items meant for the wedding, witnesses revealed.
Families, friends and well-wishers scattered in all directions following the arrest.
A source close to the police told Daily post that the groom and other members of his gang robbed at Olodo on Friday and two of them were arrested in the morning and later another one was arrested.
“He was the one that gave us the information about Togo’s wedding and the other one is now at large.”
However, the police public relations officer in the state, ASP Adekunle Ajisebutu told Daily post that although he had read the report somewhere, he was not aware of its source.
