Police arrest four suspects linked to Port Harcourt filling station attack

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the recent attack on personnel at Tonninno Filling Station on Elioparanwo Road in Port Harcourt.

The command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, said operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led the investigation, relying on intelligence-led policing and technical support to track down the suspects.

She noted that preliminary investigations showed the suspects have been involved in multiple crimes across the state.

The suspects and recovered rifles are currently in custody, cooperating with the investigation team.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional members of the gang and recover the remaining weapons used in their operations.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Olugbenga Adepoju, commended the diligence and professionalism displayed by the operatives who carried out the operation, stressing the commitment of the command to ensure offenders face the full weight of the law.

He urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies, assuring that the search for other members of the gang and their weapons remains actively underway.
