The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested four suspects, including a woman, for the murder of a young man allegedly lured to his death by his girlfriend.

Police spokesman, DSP Ahmed Rufa’i, said in a statement on Saturday that the crime took place on October 4 in Gidan Kacha, Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

He said the victim, Ali Salisu from Darnawa village, was invited by his girlfriend, Rukayya Amadu, who had reportedly conspired with another man, Hamisu Ibrahim, to trap him.

Investigations showed that Rukayya and Hamisu led the victim to Dabagi bush, where Hamisu allegedly strangled him with a rope and stole his red Kasea motorcycle.

The stolen motorcycle was later taken to Sokoto, where two others, Lawali Abdullahi and Ibrahim Abdullahi, allegedly received it.

“All four suspects have been arrested and will be charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, and receiving stolen property,” Rufa’i said.

He commended the investigators for their swift work and assured residents that the police remain committed to protecting lives and property.
