The Kwara State Police Command has arrested five suspects concerning the abduction of the wife and two children of Soliu Ayansola Lawal, a member of the Kwara State House of Assembly.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the arrests on Wednesday.
“Five people have been arrested and they are helping the police in the ongoing investigation,” he said.
Recall that the wife and two children of the lawmaker were abducted from their residence in the Shao area of the state on Monday.
The Shao community has also taken steps to find the victims, employing local hunters and vigilantes to comb the forest in Moro and Ifelodun local government areas.
The kidnappers have not yet contacted the family to demand a ransom.
The police are continuing their investigation and are working to rescue the victims.
