Police arrest 19 suspects for robbery, kidnapping, others in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 19 individuals suspected of involvement in armed robbery, cattle rustling, and kidnapping across various parts of the state.

This information was revealed in a statement on Wednesday by the command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa.

Among the arrested suspects are Auwal Fulani (27), Abdullahi Salisu (28), Halilu Adamu (37), and Abdulkarim Harisu (37). Others include Alhassan Abubakar (20), Sani Abdullahi (45), Tasiu Jamilu (25), Sani Muhammad (45), and Auwal Umar (25).

Additional suspects include Usman Abdullahi (26), Mustapha Umar (25), Nazifi Abdullahi (30), Isa Abbas (21), Junaidu Hamisu (33), and Abdulrazak Aliyu (22).

SP Kiyawa detailed the weapons recovered from the suspects: “The police recovered 2 AK-47 rifles, one Smoke Pistol, one Pump Action rifle, 26 rounds of 7.2mm live ammunition, 17 live cartridges, 2 motor vehicles, 16 rams, dangerous weapons, and house-breaking implements.”

He attributed the successful arrests to the diligent efforts of the State Police Command in combating violent and criminal activities throughout the state, ensuring the safety and security of its residents. “The command’s robust crime prevention patrols led to the arrest of the suspects,” Kiyawa added.

All suspects are currently undergoing thorough investigations at the Criminal Investigation Department of the command and will be charged to court once investigations are complete.
