Law enforcement officials in Jigawa State have detained 14 individuals suspected of operating a drug trafficking network following synchronized raids conducted in Dutse, Guri, Babura, Kanya Babba, Bulangu, and Yankwashi Local Government Areas.
SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the command’s Public Relations Officer, announced in a statement that officers confiscated 8,271 units of various illegal drugs during the operations, including Exol, D5, Tramadol, Diazepam and cannabis.
He noted that authorities also seized N235,225.00 in cash, believed to represent earnings from illegal drug sales.
Adam stated that the detained individuals remain in police custody and are cooperating with investigators to expose their distribution channels and identify additional conspirators.
Commissioner of Police Dahiru Muhammad praised the officers for their professional conduct and commitment to the continuing campaign against narcotics trafficking.
He reiterated the command’s resolve to strengthen monitoring and enforcement measures designed to eliminate drug-related crimes in Jigawa state.
