Former Manchester United midfielder and current Juventus player Paul Pogba is facing a potential four-year ban from football after a second sample confirmed his positive drug test for testosterone, according to Italian sources.
Pogba initially tested positive in August, leading to his provisional suspension by Juventus.
The second sample, which was tested in September, has corroborated the initial positive result, putting Pogba’s football career in jeopardy.
Violating doping regulations can result in a maximum suspension of up to four years, and Pogba’s positive test has raised significant questions about his continued involvement in the sport.
The French international rejoined Juventus after his contract with Manchester United expired in the summer of 2022, but his return to Italy was marred by a meniscus injury that plagued most of his season.
Pogba was only able to participate for a mere 161 minutes across 10 games, and he made just two appearances at the beginning of the new season before his provisional suspension.
