Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, has denied snubbing manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after their disastrous 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
The Frenchman who did not start the match, came on in the second half at 4-0 only to receive a red card 15 minutes into the second for a thrust on Naby Keita.
Prior to his sending off, Pogba was responsible for giving away possession which led to Mohammed Salah’s record-breaking hat-trick.
Pogba, whose future at the club is shaky, attracted criticism from club legend, Paul Scholes, who suggested that the 28-year-old could never play for the club again.
To make matters worse, a report by UK Sun claimed that the Frenchman claimed that Pogba apologised to his teammates but was furious with Solskjaer for being left out of the starting XI and refused to speak with the Norwegian who could lose his job at the club.
However, the World Cup winner has slammed the publication and branded those reports as ‘fake news’ and posted on Twitter, “Big lies to make headlines.”
In a more detailed post on Instagram, Pogba said, “Tabloid press once again wants to create polemic with 100 per cent fake news,’ Pogba wrote.
“Big lies to make headlines. Journalists who use my name to be seen when there is nothing to see.
“The only reason I address this b.s is out of respect to my coach, club and fans to send a clear message: the less you read these people the better you are, they have no shame and will say just anything with no basis AT ALL.”
Meanwhile, Pogba’s comments have in no way reduced the heat on Solskjaer who could be replaced with Antonio Conte.
Latest reports suggest Solskjaer will remain in charge for United’s next game which is away to Tottenham on Saturday evening, according to UK Metro.
With Solskjaer’s job on the line, United face more tough tests with a crucial away trip to Atalanta in the Champions League before a make or mar clash with noisy neighbours Manchester City.
