Pogba faces provisionally suspension after testing positive for testosterone

Published

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for testosterone, a banned substance.

The 30-year-old Frenchman was tested after his team’s 3-0 win over Udinese on August 20. The test detected testosterone, a hormone that increases athletes’ endurance.

The Italian anti-doping agency, NADO Italia, announced the provisional suspension on Monday. Pogba can appeal the decision, but if it is upheld, he could face a ban of up to four years.

Juventus released a statement acknowledging the failed test and said the club “reserves the right to consider the next procedural steps.”

Pogba has been dealing with several injuries since rejoining Juventus from Manchester United in 2022. He was ruled out of France’s run to the World Cup final last year due to a knee injury.
