Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has responded to Manchester United legend Gary Neville following his team’s 3-2 victory over Leeds United in the FA Cup on Wednesday.

The win against Leeds, sealed by Conor Gallagher’s 90th-minute goal, came after Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final last Sunday.

Pochettino took issue with Neville’s remarks, who had labeled Chelsea as ‘billion-pound bottlejobs’ following their loss to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

In response, Pochettino told ITV: “I think if you are talking about my friend Gary [Neville], I think he was frustrated because Liverpool won another title. That is the truth. I think it’s not fair to accuse people in this way, with a team that’s very young. The expectation is massive because we are Chelsea but this team needs to build and build the confidence. The unity is starting to grow, it is not magic, you can’t just create it.”
