Controversial Nigerian journalist, activist against gun violence, and social media personality, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, has alleged that the President, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, is very sick after contact with his chief-of-staff, Abba Kyari.

WuzupNigeria reports that Kyari tested positive to the coronavirus pandemic on Monday.

Now, Olunloyo, 55, is claiming Buhari is down with an illness. She wrote,

“#BREAKING UPDATE is that Prez @MBuhari is very sick with persistent coughing. A ventilator has been brought in from a hospital to set up a makeshift ICU to treat our Commander-in-Chief. He had contact with his Chief of staff Mr Kyari who tested positive for CORONAVIRUS #COVID19. Pls, pray for Mr President.”

WuzupNigeria reports that the Nigerian Center for Disease Control [NCDC] had on Monday said  Abba Kyari tested positive for the disease while President Muhammadu Buhari tested negative.

Kyari recently visited Germany and Egypt for a meeting where he is said to have contracted the virus, according to the website.

Anyone who is suspected to have been exposed to Kyari “have been advised to self-isolate,” a presidential source anonymously told The Nation website.

Nigeria has reported one fatality from the virus and confirmed 46 cases.

In order to curb its spread, the Nigerian Senate suspended its session for two weeks starting Tuesday.

The novel coronavirus emerged in Wuhan, China last December and has spread to at least 169 countries and territories.

The global death toll has surpassed 18,200, with some 409,000 cases confirmed, according to U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.

Despite the rising number of cases, most who become infected suffer only mild symptoms and recover.
