Mr Ezekiel Afon, the All Progressives Congress Candidate [APC] for Pengana Constituency, Bassa Local Government Area during last Saturday state House of Assembly election, has died.
Afon died on Sunday evening in his village, about one hour after information filtered in from the collation centre that he had been declared the winner.
President of Irigwe Youth Development Union, Mr Chinge Dodo, confirmed his death to our correspondent in Jos on Sunday evening.
He said
“That is that sad news. It is true. The people who evacuated his corpse are still in the mortuary as I speak with you
“I was told that he was hale and hearty today and he was even said to have been in a joyful mode with friends this afternoon before his sudden death this evening. I was told that he just suddenly slumped and died. This is really unfortunate.”
