Pirlo takes responsibility for Juve’s loss to Milan

Juventus manager, Andrea Pirlo, has taken the responsibility for the 3-0 home defeat to AC Milan in the Serie A on Sunday night.

The defeat was Milan’s first over Juve in Turin after a decade, leaving the Old Lady who have already been dethroned as Italian giants by Inter at risk of missing out on next season’s champions league.

Goals from Brahim Díaz, Ante Rebić and Fikayo Tomori gave the capped Milan’s dominant performance with a 3-0 win as Juve had no answer for the visitors who missed a penalty through Franck Kessie.

With Juve plummeting fast on the slope from 1st last season to fifth at the moment, Pilro has taken the fall as the Turin side gear towards a Europa League appearance next season.

“I had seen the team well this week, we had trained with the right concentration and we were convinced we could play a great match. However, it was not like that, after a few episodes we disunited and many things did not work.

“I knew we were going to run into difficulties, but now we all have to get out of it together. There must always be pride in wearing this shirt and certain performances must not be there.

“I had a different project in mind, I tried to work according to certain principles, at times we had to adapt, but I am convinced that I have an excellent team at my disposal. If something went wrong, I take responsibility for it,” Pirlo told the club’s website.
