It was a busy day for President Muhammadu Buhari at the Statehouse in Abuja on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 as he received U.S Secretary of State, Mr John Kerry and former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon.
Gen. Gowon was the first to arrive the Statehouse before Mr Kerry came in later. The reason for the visit is not known as at the time of compiling this report.
The US Secretary of State is in the country on a two day visit to Nigeria.
Mr Kerry’s first point of call was Sokoto State where he was taken to the Sultan’s Palace in Sokoto to pay homage to Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar iii.
