Pictures of how DSS sealed off venue of PDP convention in Port Harcourt
Following an order by a Court in Abuja on Tuesday that the PDP convention should be suspended, latest reports inform that the police have sealed off the Sharks Stadium, venue of the convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Confirming the development to newsmen on Wednesday, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Nnamdi Omoni, said, “Yes, we have (sealed off) the place. We are just obeying the court instruction.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that security operatives have denied delegates, journalists entry into the stadium.
Newsmen who visited the venue report that delegates were shocked by security operatives who prevented them from entering.
All access to the venue has been cordoned off by security operatives and armored personnel carriers as well as other police vehicles.
It was observed that only fellow security operatives were allowed to enter the stadium.
Majority of the delegates had left the stadium and gone back to their hotels while more were seen at the state PDP secretariat on Aba Road, Port Harcourt.
