Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has once again set social media ablaze with a series of insults directed at his longtime rival, David Adeleke, also known as Davido.

The renewed clash began on October 1, 2024, when Wizkid posted a cryptic message on X (formerly Twitter) that appeared to target Davido. The tweet read, “Beg me! just like…”, which fans quickly linked to a viral video of Davido.

Wizkid’s post sparked a frenzy among fans of both artists, with heated debates erupting in the comment sections. As tensions rose, Wizkid continued to take shots at Davido.

In response to a fan tweet praising him, he stated, “Bingos got nothing on Starboy General!! till infinity,” and later escalated the insults by calling Davido “Frogido.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Wizkid further ridiculed Davido’s music, tweeting, “Pussy boys dropping mids again! 80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop!”

When a user questioned Wizkid’s need to beef with Davido to sell music, he bluntly replied, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”

This latest outburst is just another chapter in the long-running rivalry between the two Afrobeats giants, which dates back to 2014. Over the years, both artists have taken numerous jabs at each other, with their fans fueling the rivalry.

Earlier in May 2024, Wizkid and Davido had a public spat after Wizkid mocked Davido and music producer Don Jazzy, calling the Mavin Records boss an “influencer” and sharing a video of Davido on his knees, seemingly pleading.

In response, Davido retaliated by declaring that Wizkid’s career was “dead,” keeping the animosity between the two alive.

Currently, neither artist has shown any signs of ending the feud, and fans of both camps continue to be engaged in the ongoing drama.
