Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday, attended the formal Armed Forces Remembrance day Emblem launch and appeal fund in Abuja.
This was contained in a post shared on the Facebook page of Defence Headquarters Nigeria few minutes ago.
Those in attendance at the event include; the Minister of Defence, Members of the Federal Executive Council, Chief of Defence Staff, Other Service Chiefs, Dignitaries, Senior Military Officers, Members of the Nigerian Legion and a Cross section of Members from the Diplomatic Corps.
Osinbajo who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the event tagged: Appreciating The Resilience of The Nigerian Armed Forces, welcomed everyone present.
While delivering his speech, he stated that the celebration is a world tradition of acknowledging and appreciating the gallantry sacrifices of our veterans, in the first and 2nd world war, peacekeeping operations around the world and internal security operations, particularly in the ongoing campaign against terrorism.
Vice President Osinbajo told Nigerians to identify with the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and veterans by making generous donation towards supporting the Nigerian Legion.
He also pleaded with Nigerians to purchase and wear the emblem with pride especially throughout the Remembrance period.
