PHOTOS: Tension as security operatives storm venue of Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos
There was a heavy presence of armed mobile policemen at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos, the venue of the planned rally by Yoruba Nation agitators on Saturday
Recall that Ilana Omo Oodua and the self-styled activist, Sunday Igboho, had vowed to continue with the rally, which was earlier called off.
Sources disclosed that the fully-kitted operatives arrived at the venue with armoured personnel carriers and patrol vehicles as early as 7.00 am in anticipation of the proposed exercise.
As of the time of filing this report, there was a palpable fear and tension in the area.
Although motorists and commuters were seen passing the road frequently, several shops owners and traders in the area were careful not to open or display their wares.
