Reports just coming in indicate that there is currently tension in Abuja following a threat by the bodyguards President Muhammadu Buhari used during campaigns for the the 2015 general elections to confront the police.
According to reports, two truck loads of mobile policemen have been deployed to the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Office in front of Unity Bank, Central Business District, Abuja.
That is the office being used by Bodyguards of President Muhammadu Buhari who participated during campaigns for the the 2015 general elections.
According to the Spokesperson of the bodyguards, Badiru Olabiyi Balogun, the bodyguards would stage a demonstration and confront the police.
“Two truck loads of mobile policemen have been deployed to our campaign office and that is our office. They said the instruction was that they should not allow us access to the office and that the people outside should not be allowed to go out. So, we are meeting there by 9:00 am this (Thursday) morning to disgrace them. The venue is APC Presidential Campaign Office in front of Unity Bank, CBD, Abuja,” Balogun reportedly told Punch correspondent on the phone.
WuzupNaija recalls that it was reported last week that the bodyguards had protested against their “exclusion” by those they described “cabals in the government.”
They alleged that apart from the N20,000 they got on two occasions in January and February 2015, “we had never and were never given anything.”
Balogun had warned that their marginalization constitutes security threat to the nation.
