Residents of Ondo State loyal to the Makarfi-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede are already celebrating his win at the Appeal Court. A special panel of the Appeal Court in Abuja sitting on the Ondo PDP governorship candidacy set aside the controversial judgement issued by Justice Okon Abang on October 14, 2016. The judgement had recognised Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the PDP for the governorship of Ondo State instead of Eyitayo.
