PHOTOS: NAFDAC seizes N41m worth of fake wines in Nasarawa

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has seized fake and contaminated wines and spirits valued at over ₦41.2 million during a raid in Nasarawa State.

The raid took place in the Mararaba Market, New Nyanya, and Masaka areas.

In a statement on Monday, NAFDAC said, “We have conducted a major raid on wine shops in Mararaba Market, as well as New Nyanya and Masaka areas in Nasarawa State. The operation targeted counterfeit and adulterated wines and spirits, leading to the seizure of products valued at over ₦41.2 million.”

NAFDAC added that their Investigation and Enforcement team is now looking into the origins of the counterfeit products to identify the importers or manufacturers involved.

The agency advised consumers to stay cautious and report any suspicious products. “NAFDAC urges consumers to remain vigilant and report suspicious products to the nearest NAFDAC office for immediate action,” the statement added.
