The police in Delta State have arrested a gun runner, three suspected cultists, and over eleven suspected drug peddlers in the state.
The suspects were arrested after continuous raiding of black spots in the state as directed by the Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Ali.
Spokesman for the Command, DSP Bright Edafe, stated this on Tuesday in Asaba, while parading the suspects, The PUNCH had reported.
He said, “The commander Delta State Anti Cult Unit (SACU) detailed SACU Operatives to Jesse area of Delta state after discreet intelligence gathering.
“Three suspected cultists; Onomua Victor 29, one Saturday, and Ibru Adegbor all from Jesse were arrested. On investigation and
interrogation, they confessed to being members of the Aro Bagger confraternity.
“The cult leader who is on the run is in possession of their arm which they call ‘tool’ popularly known as cut to size gun. On further interrogation, they confessed that one Francis Ogono, 42, who is also from Jesse is their gun supplier.
“Based on that, on 29 May, SACU operatives went after the said gun runner and arrested him. Exhibit recovered include one single barrel gun and several tools used in the production of cut to size guns.”
Edafe also said that over eleven suspects dealing in cocaine were also arrested in the Sapele area of the state.
