Unknown gunmen suspected to be assassins riding on motorcycles gunned down a groom-to-be, Mr. Isaac Nnaemeka Chukwu, on Tuesday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
The Ebonyi businessman was killed in one of his stores after he had closed for the evening.
Chukwu’s wedding date to Favour Nworie had been scheduled to hold at St Thomas Chapel on April 23.
The death of the young businessman was confirmed by his sibling.
The deceased’s brother said, “He owned two businesses, one on the street where he sold provisions and the other at the international market in Abakaliki.
“He was killed at one of his stores after he had closed for the evening. He and his wife had shut their business, but as he was getting into his car, several unidentified individuals on a motorcycle raced up to him and shot him twice.”
