A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, has gotten married to Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State’s daughter, Aisha Shinkafi Saidu.

Bankole who was the youngest speaker in the history of Nigeria, elected at the age of 37, got married in Abuja on Friday, January 15.

Reports revealed that the former Ogun State gubernatorial election candidate under the platform of Action Democratic Party has been in a relationship with Aisha, a trained lawyer and graduate of the University of Hull in the UK.

Formerly married to, Olaitan Bankole, Dimeji, now 51-years-old, parted ways with Olaitan, his first wife in 2017, they both had a child together, Yewande Semiat Bankole who died at the age of 7 on 1 October 2014.

Dimeji’s tenure as the speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria lasted for four years from 2007–2011.
