Tens of retired civil servants, under the aegis of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, on Tuesday staged a protest in front of Government House in Benin, the Edo State capital over non-payment of their entitlements.
The aggrieved protesters, who are elderly men and women over 60 years of age, carried placards with different inscriptions begging the state government to pay their entitlements.
The retirees decried the delay in the payment of their entitlements.
When our correspondent visited the scene, some of the retirees were seen kneeling down begging Governor Adams Oshiomhole to come to their rescue and pay their outstanding entitlements.
