Social media is buzzing with reactions after a lady attempted to recreate the traditional wedding dress worn by Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.

The outfit, which gained attention during Priscy’s much-talked-about wedding to Tanzanian music star Juma Jux on April 17, 2025, was initially praised for its elegance and cultural flair.

Priscy’s original look—a blue and red beaded masterpiece with a dramatic fishtail finish—was crafted from asooke fabric and became an instant sensation among fashion lovers.

It was only a matter of time before someone took on the challenge of recreating the show-stopping ensemble.

In a video making the rounds online, a woman was spotted rocking her own version of the dress.

While the colors and fishtail structure mirrored the original, the recreated dress lpwas made from shiny satin material, giving it a noticeably different appearance.

Still, the woman wore it confidently and shared her creation for all to see.

However, the bold fashion move didn’t sit well with many Nigerians on social media. Comments came in droves, with users expressing dismay at the outcome.

1stladyijay bluntly asked, “E good for your eye? Talk true.”

Fabrics_in_patterns remarked, “You tried by making an attempt, but truth be told, it’s not all styles you recreate.”

Im_aduragbemi didn’t hold back: “Kini gbogbo eleyi? Una no dey shame? Is this outfit beautiful in your mind, body and soul?”

Adiah_usen added, “God abeg ooooo. What in the unwanted decoration is this na?”

Foodshopabuja chimed in with, “You just carry money wey you suppose take cook soup and stew take buy material waste am.”

Some reactions took a lighter tone. Virgo7styles joked, “This one na JP 1999.”

Shes__precious__ acknowledged the effort, saying, “The stylist tried because it’s obvious the quality of the material is lesser but she still gave it her best.”

Q_meenahh warned, “No be everything una suppose dey recreate o wetin be this.”

A few others, however, offered support.

Cottonedgerealty wrote, “As long as she’s happy.”

Victoiree747 noted, “Same just not a very good material and body type but everything isn’t for copying.”

Meanwhile, the designer of Priscy’s wedding attire, Lasosa, had earlier cautioned other tailors against replicating her work.

She issued a stern warning via social media, threatening legal action against anyone who copied her designs.

This followed the unveiling of Priscy and Juma Jux’s coordinated pre-wedding look, which featured beige and brown floral outfits that captivated fans ahead of their star-studded nuptials.
