Peter Obi to file appeal at Supreme court on Tuesday

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is set to file an appeal at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
This was announced by the spokesperson of the Peter Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, and the National Legal Adviser of the Labour Party, Kehinde Edun.
The appeal is against the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed Obi’s petition challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress in the February 25, 2023 presidential election.
Tanko said that Obi’s legal team is still working on the appeal and that they have not yet fixed a date to submit it.
However, he confirmed that it will be filed on or before Tuesday, which is the deadline for doing so.
“I just confirmed that we have not filed the appeal. That will be done between now and Tuesday.
“We are also not seeking to engage or tweak our team of lawyers,” Tanko said
The Supreme Court is the highest court in Nigeria and its decision on Obi’s appeal will be final.
