The Pentagon has released dozens of new UFO records, including declassified documents, videos, audio recordings and images. These materials are linked to decades of unexplained aerial encounters.

According to People, the latest release includes 40 files made up of 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio files and three images. These files are connected to unresolved unidentified anomalous phenomena, also known as UFOs.

The records, released on July 10, came from several government agencies and covered incidents reported between 1948 and 2025.

One of the newly released documents includes a 1949 analysis of unexplained flying objects. This document referenced a fatal military pursuit from the previous year.

The document said a National Guard pilot died on January 7, 1948, while trying to intercept an unidentified object. The object was flying at about 30,000 feet.

Investigators believed the pilot likely suffered anoxia before crashing. Anoxia occurs when the body or brain completely runs out of oxygen.

However, the pilot’s final radio message described the object as a large metallic object.

“It appears to be metallic object…of tremendous size…directly ahead and slightly above…I am trying to [get] close for a better look,” the pilot said in his last message to the control tower, according to the document.

Another file in the Pentagon UFO records contains a transcript from a 1949 conference in Los Alamos, New Mexico. At this conference, scientists discussed unusual “green fireballs” seen over a nuclear facility.

Some participants suggested the objects could have been meteors entering Earth’s atmosphere. However, a prominent astronomer at the conference reportedly argued that “nothing like this … has ever been observed in the case of meteorite drops.”

The release also includes a 2019 “range fouler reporting form,” which the Pentagon described as a standard U.S. Navy form for documenting unauthorised intrusions into controlled airspace during military operations or training.

In that report, an aviator said he saw an object with flight behaviour unlike anything he had witnessed in nearly three decades of military service.

“In between mission sorties, I noticed an object with flight characteristics unlike anything I had seen in my 28 years of performing [redacted] for the USAF and Navy,” the report said.

“Others with equal or more experience were also unsure as to what this object might be,” it added.

The newly released videos also show separate incidents in which infrared sensors detected unidentified aerial objects in different locations.

Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell said the files formed part of the fourth public release. This release was under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters.

“Today, the Department of War is publishing the fourth release of declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files as part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE),” the statement said.

The statement added that the collection would remain on the department’s UFO website. Additionally, there are additional releases planned on a rolling basis.

The public archive first launched on May 8. At that time, officials said they hoped the records would encourage private-sector analysis and expertise.

Parnell later said the website attracted massive public attention within hours of its launch.

“In just 12 hours, the site has received 340 MILLION hits from Americans and truth seekers worldwide seeking unfiltered UAP information,” he wrote on X.

President Donald Trump also announced the launch on Truth Social. He said the files were being released for public “review and study.”

“As for my promise to you, the Department of War has released the first tranche of the UFO/UAP files to the Public for their review and study,” Trump wrote.

He said the release aimed to promote what he called “Complete and Maximum Transparency” on government files. These files are linked to alien life, unidentified aerial phenomena and unidentified flying objects.

“Whereas previous Administrations have failed to be transparent on this subject, with these new Documents and Videos, the people can decide for themselves… Have Fun and Enjoy!” Trump added.

The Pentagon UFO records have renewed public interest in unexplained aerial incidents. They also increased focus on the government’s handling of information linked to UAP sightings.
