The Peoples Democratic Party has announced the postponement of the screening exercise for aspirants participating in its 2025 Elective National Convention.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Chairman of the PDP National Convention Organising Committee and Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, the exercise, which was earlier scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, has been put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances.
Fintiri noted that a new date for the screening would be announced in due course and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.
“The National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has put on hold the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025 due to unforeseen circumstances.
“A new date will be communicated once fixed. The NCOC regrets any inconveniences caused by the postponement.
“All Aspirants and members of our Party should note the foregoing and be guided accordingly.
“The NCOC remains committed to delivering a credible, hitch-free 2025 Elective National Convention on Saturday, 15th to Sunday 16th November, 2025 in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital,” the statement read.
The PDP had earlier named former Ondo State governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), as Chairman of its Screening Committee for the forthcoming convention.
Other members of the committee include Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri as Deputy Chairman, Asue Ighodalo as Secretary, and Jacob Otorkpa as Deputy Secretary.
Also appointed to the panel are Emmanuel Enoidem, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Aduke Maina, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Achike Udenwa, Maryam Ciroma, Felix Hyat, Zainab Maina, and Chinedu Nwachukwu, who will serve as member/administrative secretary.
