The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Samuel Anyanwu, on Saturday declared the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagum, and Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, citing alleged anti-party activities.
Anyanwu stated that the decision was reached during an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee.
He further revealed that the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and Deputy National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo, were also suspended.
According to him, all the affected officials have been referred to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee for further action.
Earlier in the day, a separate meeting of the NWC presided over by Damagum had announced the suspension of Anyanwu himself, along with the National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, and the Deputy National Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha, over similar allegations of anti-party conduct.
