The Peoples Democratic Party is grieving the loss of Dr. Faisal Ahmed Makarfi, son of Senator Ahmed Makarfi, former Governor of Kaduna State and Secretary of the PDP’s Board of Trustees. Dr. Faisal died in a tragic car accident in Kaduna.
In a statement signed by the PDP’s Acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi, the party expressed deep sorrow over the sudden loss and extended its heartfelt condolences to the Makarfi family. The party prayed for Allah to grant the family strength during this difficult time.
The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the accident, which occurred on Saturday along the Kaduna-Kano highway.
The FRSC’s Kaduna State Sector Commander, Kabir Nadabo, explained that the accident happened when the front right tyre of the KIA vehicle Faisal was traveling in came off, causing the car to somersault.
“The road traffic crash occurred at Lambar Zango along Zaria-Kaduna Highway at 6:15 pm,” Nadabo said. He added that three men were involved in the accident, and two others were left unconscious. Faisal was rushed to a hospital in Kaduna, but sadly, he did not survive.
The funeral for Dr. Faisal Makarfi is scheduled to take place in Makarfi town, Kaduna State.
