Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has declared the Peoples Democratic Party dead and buried, alleging that it is now under the control of agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress operating from the Presidential Villa.
Melaye, who is currently a member of the African Democratic Congress, made the remarks during a televised interview on Monday night.
“Except for our Lord Jesus Christ, no dead can rise again. Whatever you are seeing is make-shift. The dead is dead; we can only advertise the obituary,” he said.
The former lawmaker claimed the PDP had been compromised beyond repair. “PDP was sold, and I’m not sure if they even got a receipt for the payment, but it was sold. What you have now is an APC-controlled PDP. It’s a party being controlled from the Villa by APC agents,” Melaye alleged.
He also responded to a recent comment by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on the condition of the party. “If a sitting governor is saying ‘let’s have a party first,’ it means there is no party,” he said.
Reaffirming his political allegiance, Melaye declared his loyalty to the ADC and expressed confidence that the party would defeat President Bola Tinubu in the next general election.
“I’m a proud member of the ADC, and that is the party that will unseat Tinubu and, by the grace of God, send him out of the Villa come May 29, 2027,” he stated.
