The People’s Democratic Party in Ondo State has criticized Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for choosing Ibadan, Oyo State, as his first port of call after returning from a medical trip to Germany.

Akeredolu landed in Ibadan on Thursday after almost three months medical leave, approved by the state House of Assembly to enable him attend to his health.

However, the PDP has described his first point of landing as “absurd” and an “insult” to the people of Ondo State that Akeredolu would not return to the state immediately after his medical leave.

PDP spokesman Kennedy Peretei said the governor’s decision to go to Ibadan first showed that he had “no respect” for the people of Ondo State.

“This is very absurd and an insult on the sensibility of Ondo State people. If Akeredolu has been certified fit to resume duties, let him notify the Assembly accordingly to conclude the remainder of his tenure for which he has been barely tolerated.”

Pereteri also further stated that the governor has moved Ondo’s mantle of governance to his private Ibadan residence

Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, Governor of Ondo State has continued in his usual lack of respect for the people of Ondo State by practically relocating his government and State Assembly to his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. He said

However, Akeredolu has not yet commented on the PDP’s criticism.
