PARLIAMENTARY SUPPORT GROUP! They received $1 million to impeach Saraki and Ekweremadu, says Senator Rafiu Ibrahim

Senator Rafiu Ibrahim (PDP, Kwara South) alleged on Tuesday that lawmakers under the aegis of Parliamentary Support Group were given $1m each to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.

The lawmaker said this in an interview with reporters at the National Assembly on Tuesday.

His allegations could however not be independently verified.

None of the leading members of the Parliamentary Support Group for Muhammadu Buhari could be reached for comments.

Wuzup Naija had on Tuesday reported that Saraki suspended the National Assembly principal officers meeting scheduled for 12noon yesterday after an invasion by security forces.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yusuf Lasun, told reporters that with the tensed situation at the National Assembly, the meeting was no longer feasible.

“A meeting cannot be held under this kind of atmosphere.

“It is unfortunate that this is happening because when the parliament is under siege, democracy is under siege”, Lasun stated.

Meanwhile, Saraki would be holding a world press conference today.

The agenda of the conference scheduled to hold on Wednesday at 12 noon is not known.
