File: Tanker accident at Fadeyi bus stop Lagos

A petrol-laden tanker on Wednesday morning fell on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at the Boluwaji area of Ibadan causing panic.

WuzupNigeria gathered that the accident occurred very early in the morning as residents and motorists plying the road woke up to meet the fallen truck with its content.

The accident was said to have caused a traffic snarl at the area but it was later cleared as officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps moved in to ensure a free flow of traffic in the area.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Uche Chukwura, who confirmed the accident said there was no life lost nor injury as a result of the crash.

She said, “It was a lone crash involving a white vehicle without number plate. Maybe the number plate was removed by the driver after the crash. But no life was lost and no injury was recorded.

“The tanker fell off the road and I suspect it happened in the night because we met it there this morning. They have emptied the content into another tanker and traffic is now moving but you know it will take time to clear the backlog.”
