Oyo State Government says it has suspended the student of Anglican Commercial Secondary School, Orita-Mefa, Ibadan (name withheld) for one month after he allegedly slapped a corp member.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Rahman Abdu-Raheem.
Abdu-Raheem, who made the disclosure during a visit to the school, said the student would be asked to apologise to the corps member and sign an undertaking never to repeat such act on his return.
In his address to students of the school, the commissioner charged them to be of good behaviour, reiterating that the state government would not condone any act of indiscipline or hooliganism.
The commission warned that any student caught acting in uncivilised manners, henceforth, would be dismissed from schools in Oyo State.
Abdu-Raheem also charged teachers to be more dedicated and punctual at work.
