Oyo monarch Oba Lasisi Olawuyi Adeoye is dead

A popular Oyo State traditional ruler, Oba Lasisi Olawuyi Adeoye, has passed away.

Politics Nigeria reported that Oba Adeoye who was until death the Asigangan of Iganganland in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of the State, died on Tuesday, December 21, 2021

Confirming the monarch’s death, the chairman of Ibarapa North local government, Lateef Akorede told newsmen deceased is yet to be buried.

He said, “Yes, it’s true. Kabiyesi has joined his ancestors. He took his last breath this morning. We are yet to bury him. We just left the hospital not long ago.”

Iganagnland had been in the news multiple times this year following ethnic clashes involving the indigenes and some criminal Fulani herdsmen.

The unrest in the community led to the rise of the resistance championed by embattled self-styled Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho.
