The Oyo State Government disclosed on Sunday that it has discharged two more COVID-19 patients after testing negative on two different occasions.
Making this disclosure was the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, on his official Twitter Handle.
Governor Makinde, who heads the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, in an update on his Twitter page, wrote, “Two confirmed COVID-19 patients were discharged today after receiving their second negative test results.
“This brings the number of discharged cases to nine. So, there are currently six active cases in Oyo State.”
It will be recalled that the National Centre for Disease Control had earlier indicated that there were 48 new cases of COVID-19 with one from Oyo State.
It was gathered that one of the two cases that tested negative after two separate confirmatory tests was the Chairman, Board of Management of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Alhaji Shettima Bako Bagudu.
Bagudu had been quarantined for three weeks having earlier tested positive for COVID-19.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, said, “Yes, Alhaji Shettima Bako Bagudu is one of the two cases being discharged in Oyo State on Sunday after two results show that he tested negative.”
